The Granite State is joining the fight against one of the most burdensome parts about owning a cell phone.

When your livelihood is dependent on answering every call, the robocall has become an infuriating part of drumming up potential new business. It's an issue progressively getting worse, and count New Hampshire lawmakers on the list of those ready to do something about it.

According to WMUR News 9, Attorney General Gordon MacDonald announced an agreement with 51 other Attorney Generals and 12 communication providers, including AT&T, Sprint, Comcast and Verizon, to take action. MacDonald told WMUR  “Through the nationwide collaboration of attorneys general and industry leaders, we are setting forth a plan, in real time, to protect our citizens by combating burdensome and dangerous robocalls."

The group will be taking aim at silencing robocalls through call blocking, call labeling, network improvements and traceback technology.

MacDonald continued “The No. 1 job of all attorneys general is to ensure the protection of the citizens in our states.”
