I live in Raymond, New Hampshire, so the Bedford Trader Joe's location is the closest to me.

Every time I go there, I can't help but notice an employee who is always super happy.  I don't know his name, but I am going to guess that he is approximately 25 years old, give or take.

Let's call him "Sam" (not his real name). He is happy to be restocking shelves, happy to help you if you need it, and just happy all the time about everything.  He will greet every customer and ask if he can help you in any way.

"Sam's" positivity is absolutely infectious.

When I went to write about this, I called the store to see if I could find out more about him.  I spoke to a lovely woman and started to describe Sam to the best of my ability.

  • Me:  "I wonder if I can find out more about someone who works there.  I have seen him there many times and he's always super happy and so....."
  • Lady on the phone:  "Oh, that's ("Sam.")

I started to laugh at how quickly she knew who I was talking about.  She told me he receives more compliments from customers than any other employee in the store.

"He's a neighborhood favorite," she said.

The woman on the phone went on to say that he has gotten emails that go all the way up to his regional managers because of his positive attitude.

Believe me, if you go to the Bedford Trader Joe's location, it won't take you long to find out who exactly "Sam" is.  He's the one who is walking up to you asking you if you are having a great day and if there is anything that he can help you with.

He keeps me coming back.

What a great example of what a good attitude can do.
