Legends Devo and The B-52's Coming to MA on Upcoming Tour

How lucky are we? New Wave Icons, B-52's and Devo are touring together and they have put the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on the map.

Devo, New Wave Icons, Are Coming to Massachusetts

Devo, I was told, is short for De-evolution, as in the de-evolution of humanity.

If you were like me, in the early '80's, we were glued to MTV and one of the bands that graced the small screen in my living room was Devo. I had never seen anything like them in my life.

Devo was the King of New Wave music that had started in the late '70's. Other artists in the genre were Elvis Costello, Boy George, The Go-Go's, the Cars, the Talking Heads, A Flock of Seagulls and many other amazing bands, including their tour mates, the B-52's.

The B-52's might be the "kitchy-est" band of them all. Not only did the 1/2 boy, 1/2 girl band look different, but their music was infectious.

How could anyone not love their biggest hit, "Love Shack." This song came from their wildly successful album "Cosmic Thing."

"Cosmic Thing's" last cut was a slightly melancholy, smooth, instrumental groove that ended that album perfectly. To this day, it's one of my favorite albums ever.
