Owl’s Head General Store, Home of the Best Burger in Maine, Welcomes a Baby Boy
Maya Newsam-Sousa (owner of the Owl's Head General Store) and her husband Austin Sousa welcomed their brand new baby boy, Theodore James Sousa. 'Theo', 'TJ', 'Teddy', 'Peanut', etc., came into the world on Monday, August 5, 2024, weighing about 6.5 pounds and measuring 19 1/2".

This little one is the first grandchild for Maya's Mom Barb Naeger and her stepdad John Naeger, Theo is also the first grandchild of Maya's Dad, David Newsam, and her stepmom, Sarah Sullivan-Newsam (yes, I'm currently writing in 3rd person so I can get through this without bawling tears of joy).
Theodore James is not the first grandchild for Austin's parents, however. The Sousa family, based out of Gloucester, Massachusetts, have a lot of grand-wee ones, but their hearts are still overjoyed for the latest one.
There is no doubt that Theo will inherit his parents' incredible work ethic. Both Maya and Austin are hard workers. If you are a business owner, you probably understand just how busy. If you serve food, double the stress.
You might remember that the Owl's Head General Store opened up during the pandemic because Maya was just let go from her job in Salem, Massachusetts, and couldn't sit still for one minute. She works very, very hard at the store, bringing her customers all the famous seven-napkin burgers they can eat. Austin teaches math to middle school children (an occupation worthy of medals and daily prayer beads), and has a mobile DJ business for all your party needs.
Maya's sister, Audrey Newsam, is a first-time auntie. I think we'll have to start calling her Auntie Zen. She was amazing with the baby.
Have you ever been to the OHGS? You should go try one of their famous burgers and say hello to our new little man! Oh, how we love him so.
Any advice for the new parents?
