Playing Shark in the Park 2024: New Hampshire's Mica's Groove Train

Shark in the Park 2024 is a free community concert series on Wednesday nights throughout the months of July and August at Henry Law Park in Dover, New Hampshire, from 6-8pm.

Our second band for the series is Mica's Groove Train.

The members of Mica's Groove Train have been together for about six years now.  The band formed in about 2010.  Here is their current lineup:  

• Mica Peterson: Lead vocals, songwriter, keyboards. She is the granddaughter of Jean M. Jones and the great niece of Sharon Jones. Wait until you hear her sing!
• Stacy Bugg: Bass
• Joey Rizzo: Drums
• Paul Lessard: Lead Guitar. And according to Mica, the oldest guy is the baby of the band.

Mica's Groove Train does a mix of songs.  There is something for everyone, from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Amy Winehouse, Bobby Hebb, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Paul Simon, Ten Years After... you get the idea.  Mica says that's the way she wants to keep it.  It makes it exciting.

Mica and Bugg came into the Shark Tank to perform a couple of songs for us a few weeks ago.  The sound of the songs was unplugged for the studio, but they will be plugged in on Wednesday for Shark in the Park.

Mica writes songs about her husband, Doug, who she says is amazing.  She also said that he blushes occasionally when those songs are performed.  Doug is the sound engineer and Super-Roadie, a.k.a "carrier of really heavy things" (we all need a Doug in our lives).
