Portsmouth Based Lonza Part of Effort to Create Vaccine

This is so exciting for the NH Seacoast and for people ALL OVER THE WORLD!

Lonza Biologics of Portsmouth has been working on a vaccine for COVID-19.  They teamed up with Moderna of Massachusetts and Phase 1 trials began in March, according to a report from Seacoast Online.

Moderna was quoted as saying,

Our goal is to make the vaccine available around the world

The report quotes Governor Sununu at his Press Conference on Friday:

Although this could be a long time before we actually have a vaccine, the report goes on to say that there are approximately 70 working vaccines throughout the world and I say the more, the better.  I would LOVE it if Lonza right here in Portsmouth and Moderna in Cambridge was the one to develop it, but whoever gets to it first is okay by me!
