Remember When Billy Joel Changed the Lyrics to One of His Songs Just for Boston?

Who could forget the Boston bombings at the Marathon in April of 2013?  It was a horrific event that rocked everyone in New England, especially in Boston.

Pat Garrett from Derry, New Hampshire, according to CBSnews.com, got a flurry of texts and phone calls on the day of the bombing.  His daughter was trying to get in touch with him to let him know she was okay.

Remember when the One Fund Boston was set up for the victims of the bombing?  Pat thought he could help.

Pat loves the City of Boston and the Billy Joel song, "New York State of Mind."

Pat wrote new lyrics, Boston style, for the iconic song, created a demo and played it for a friend.  He then asked this friend if her daughter Emma Stangenelli, 12 years old at the time, could sing for the final project.

The video caught the attention of Billy Joel himself.

Emma had the incredible experience of singing on stage with Billy Joel at his show at Fenway Park that Summer of 2013.
