One of the things that has come out of the pandemic has been people re-evaluating their lives and what is important to them.  For some, that means looking at what you'd like to do for the rest of your life. Maybe you've always wanted to start your own business, but don't know the first thing about it.  That shouldn't stop you.

My step-daughter, Maya, opening her store comes to mind.  There she was, in Gloucester, MA, recently laid off and wondering what her next move would be.  She decided to start her own business in Owl's Head, Maine.  Maya is now serving the people of that community hot coffee and great food, just to name a couple things.  Maya and the Owl's Head General Store has become the heartbeat of that little town in Maine just because she had the chutzpah to do it.

You may have heard of SCORE which stands for Service Corps of Retired Executives.  According to investopedia.com:

.....(SCORE is) the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, with more than 10,000 volunteers in 300 chapters. As a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE has helped more than 10 million entrepreneurs through mentoring, workshops and educational resources since 1964.

There are SCORE locations all over the country.  You can find one close to you by clicking here.

Go on, now.  Go open that business that you've always wanted and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it.  I've given you the first step and you know what they say.... "take the first step even though you can't see the whole staircase."  Or something like that....
