Opinions are Flying: Some Seabrook, New Hampshire Beach Residents Want a 10pm Curfew for Beach-Partiers
Summer in New Hampshire is really the only time that we can really enjoy the weather and the sunshine after the hour of 4pm, so people tend to let their hair down.
New Hampshire certainly gets our fair share of out of towners that enjoy our beautiful beaches as well, but some residents of Seabrook beach want them to call it a night at 10pm.
According to WMUR, some residents want a curfew at 10pm to stop some of loud behavior.
One resident said that he has never seen the beach so loud as it has been in the last 5 years in the South End of the Seabrook beach.
WMUR spoke with a resident who also said that nothing good happens after midnight, ever. (Then why not ask for a midnight curfew? Just sayin'....)
Some beach goers say that 10pm is a bit early because the fireworks on Hampton Beach go off at about 9:30pm and a lot of people go to Seabrook to watch them.
On WMUR's Facebook page, they got many comments as well in defense of the party people:
- I’ve lived on this beach for 40+ years and it’s WAY tamer now than it was when I was a kid. If you don’t like it, move. Your money will take you very far in other places.
- Fireworks go off all over town. The beach people think they are special. Guess what buttercup you’re the same as everyone else.
SOUTH END IS A NIGHTMARE FOR THOSE THAT LIVE THERE. I GET ITS THE BEACH BUT, Seabrook is for town residents and their guests.Fireworks not allowed. That’s all we are saying. Follow the rules or go to Salisbury or Hampton.
