A snowy owl that was saved on Rt.101 is recovering.
According to an article at Unionleader.com, the owl was hit by a car Thursday morning. It's now in the custody of a wildlife rehab 'On the Wing' in Epping.
The medical outlook is as follows as stated in the Unionleader
X-rays showed a hairline fracture to the bird’s right wing and trauma to the spine and head and a bruised nictitating membrane (third eyelid), Kelly said; recovery is expected to take about four weeks.
These are beautiful birds and I hope the recovery is quick. And I especially like the observant passersby who stopped to help!
