The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a surge in fraudulent scam calls reported by local residents. This one states that scammers are posing as law enforcement officers from the sheriff's office and once again, involves gift cards.
Of course this isn't the first time we've heard a report of a firearm being stolen out of a vehicle, but there has apparently been an increase in gun thefts from unlocked vehicles.
The Strafford County Sherriff's Office post describes the most recent scam targeting people. The scammers will call you with things that may convince you that this is a legit call.
