The Rosa is returning to downtown Portsmouth, according to a story from Seacoastonline and I can't wait!

This is such great news in a world filled with bad news and businesses closing.  The Rosa, famous for their $5 pizzas and amazing Italian dressing is coming back to their original location at 70 State Street in Portsmouth.  They plan to open in the Fall of 2020, according to the report.

There was another restaurant in that space, Armando's, however, according to their Facebook page, they are permanently closed.

The Rosa announced the re-opening on their Facebook page and if you are looking for a job, they might need you!

The Rosa Restaurant couldn't be happier to announce we will be opening in the Fall of 2020. More than ever, we need places that feel like home.  No nonsense, classic Italian food shared with family and friends!  We are looking to hire a seasoned General Manager and Executive Chef. Please send resumes to heidi@river-wharf.com.

The Rosa has been a regular stop for me when I want to eat first before going to a performance at Strawberry Banke.  The atmosphere was always homey and the food was delicious.  I recommend one of their classic salads to start, a Rosa pizza with just cheese and a nice, bold red glass of wine.  Sometimes, if it's really hot outside, I'll substitute the red wine for a glass of pinot grigio, but not very often.  It has to be REALLY hot outside for me to switch to white.  Whatever the case may be in your life, the Rosa will be welcome back to downtown Portsmouth with open arms!
