The Salvation Army is launching it's kettle campaign a little early this year and you don't need change to donate, so says a report from WMUR.

The Red Kettle campaign is launching in November this year due to the increase in demand for help.  The report cites Rosemarie Dykeman of the Salvation Army:

The need has tripled in our community...... The Salvation Army typically does about 400 to 500 food bags, and we have been up to 1,500 almost 1,600 food bags

Adding to the problem is that a lot of retail stores have closed, so there isn't the foot traffic that there used to be.

One recent problem that they have a solution for is that you no longer need change to donate.  The Salvation Army has a code on their kettle that you can just scan to make a donation.
