Laconia, New Hampshire

For people who live here, it's no wonder that Laconia, New Hampshire has been chosen as one of the Best Lake Towns in the U.S.  It has something for everyone.  Here are a few other reasons why.

Wallethub.com compared 191 cities.  Each city was judged on affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health and quality of life.

Laconia ranked #26, with a total score of 51.15.  The city scored highest in "Economy," coming in at #2 followed by "Safety" at number 5, "Weather" #17, "Quality of Life" #18, "Affordability" at #22 and "Education" coming in at #42.

Laconia is perfect if you're looking for a beautiful place in the country with a wild side.  The town is as New Hampshire as you can get.

It sits between Lake Winnepesaukee and Lake Winnisquam and every June, right around Father's Day, the town is host to Laconia Bike Week.

Laconia Bike Week

Laconia Motorcycle Week has been going on for decades and it is wild sometimes.  There is lots of leather, loud mufflers, loud music and lots of fun, if you're into that scene.  There are vendors all up and down the main drag selling t-shirts and tattoos. Live music is part of big week as well.  Local restaurants and bars have local rock bands every night of the week.

Laconia is also a great place to raise a family.  It has a great school system and the people that I know who live there are loyal and take care of others in their community.

Laconia isn't too far from Boston, if you are looking to go to the big City.
