Three Reasons You Must Watch ‘American Horror Story’ and One of Them is Local [PHOTOS]

This show had it's fourth season premiere last night and rave reviews for it abound. If you are on the fence about watching it, I'm about to give you three reasons that will hopefully make you walk right into the FX big top every Wednesday night at 10pm for this chillingly entertaining freakshow.

REASON NUMBER ONE: Every season is entirely independent of and from each other. I didn't realize this until I started watching last season and the short shelf life of every season story line makes it easy to follow. I think this is also a great device that keeps the show from going stale insuring that something like this will never happen to it.

REASON NUMBER TWO: The cast is comprised of the highest caliber acting talent. Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates have so many Oscar nominations (they'd probably have won more if they weren't in competition with each other) that their ability to make cliché horror settings like haunted houses,witch covens and freakshows very believable.

REASON NUMBER THREE: Michael Chiklis. I promised a local connection in the headline and this guy is New England personified. A Lowell, MA native and no stranger to FX, his portrayal of Vic Mackey on The Sheild was, in my opinion, the finest TV character of the last decade. The description of his AHS strongman character, well... defies description...and you haven't missed one second of his involvement with the show!
