After more than 50 years in business, according to a report from WCVB, Top of the Hub and the Skywalk Observatory in the Prudential Tower in Boston will be closing on April 18, 2020.  Boston Properties is planning something new.

The Skywalk, on the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower, is also closing.  It gave you a bird's eye view of the Boston.  On a clear day, you could see the Hancock Tower, Fenway Park, the Boston Common, the Harvard Crew Team practicing in the Charles River and so much more.

The restaurant group told the Globe that 200 employees will lose their jobs. The announcement was made to staff at a meeting Wednesday afternoon.

Well, that just stinks.  Top of the Hub was my fancy place to go for significant times in my life.  I remember celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and other special times there, overlooking the most beautiful view of Boston from the 52nd floor, drinking martini's and eating great food.

Sad for the employees and patrons, but I am looking forward to what is coming in to that space.  I'll keep you posted.
