Massachusetts Representative Todd Smola said that he was "slightly worried" that the Commonwealth was only at 57% compliance just a while ago, according to CBSnews.com.

Representative Smola said:

I can envision all of my colleagues up here getting the telephone calls from constituents who can't get on planes and who can't meet the requirements to get into a federal building.

The Deadline is May 7, 2025

If you don't get a Real ID by the deadline of May 7, 2025, it doesn't necessarily mean a "hard stop," according to cbsnews.

What if You Show Up at Logan Airport in Boston Without an Acceptable ID?

Don't panic.  That's just good advice for any circumstance at the airport.  Things will come up, but don't panic.

You may still be allowed to fly.

A TSA officer may ask you to complete and ID verification process.  You will have to confirm your information on your ID like your name and current address.  You may also have to go through additional questioning.

No Cooperation, No Fly

If you refuse to answer questions or if you get the answers incorrect, you will not be able to allowed into the security checkpoint.

Bottom line is, if you don't have the REAL ID by the deadline, you will be subjected to a whole bunch of hassle.  Travelling has its own set of hassles, don't create more for yourself.
