Portsmouth announced this week the launch of the Passport Parking mobile app which allows the user to pay for the parking meter from their phones.

This app also lets users check in on their meter and remotely extend time so you don't have to keep walking back to the meter.

The PassportParking app is currently for use in the city's Bridge Street lot and Worth lot. The plan is to have it available in the weeks to come city wide.

According to the press release:

Passport signage will instruct users to download and get started with the app, which is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at www.ppprk.com. To celebrate this launch and get drivers acclimated to this new tool, the City is offering a onetime use validation code – 603603 – that will discount users two dollars for their first use of this application. Users simply need to download the app and enter their parking zone (located at parking meters), plate, length of stay, payment and validation code information to get started.
