2021 New England Patriots Season Opener Is Just The Tip Of The Iceberg
The NFL just put forth the official season opener for The New England Patriots and no, you are not experiencing deja vu. The Pats are once again facing off against their divisional rivals, The Miami Dolphins.
Sunday, September 12th, Gillette Stadium, 4:35PM
Miami Dolphins VS. The New England Patriots
If you're feeling a bit of disappointment with the redundancy of last year's opener, quit whining!
There are several cool new angles that have developed recently that should be extremely interesting come September 12th.
The photo I used for this article features Kyle Van Noy and Cam Newton in the middle of a serious disagreement at last year's opener. One that ended in pushing and shoving after the game.
Well, Van Noy is back with the Patriots now and all his hostility will now be focused upon Miami, the team that unceremoniously released him back in March.
I'm sure any squabble he had with Cam will be considered water under the bridge.
For the first time since 2017, The McCourty twins will be standing on opposing sidelines. Jason McCourty just officially signed with the Dolphins last Friday.
Devin McCourty will now patrol the defensive backfield without his twin brother and I'm sure it's going to seem weird to see J Mac wearing orange and teal during the opener.
These interesting stories are just the tip of the iceberg though.
The trillion dollar match up will feature Tom Brady and The Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers headed to Gillette Stadium.
This game, as well as the entirety of The Pats schedule, will be released by the league tonight at 8PM.
