4 Popular Food Stores Recalling ‘Ready to Eat’ Salads

According to a recent report, certain salads sold at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Walmart and 7-Eleven are being recalled due to listeria and salmonella concerns.  The USDA has a list of what salads, specifically, they are concerned about.

I don't know about you, but when a report comes out like this, I try to avoid all salads for a little while.  Even the lettuce that I buy, I'm a little suspect of.

The only way to really know where your food comes from and your best chances of zero contamination is to grow it yourself.  I am always in awe of people that grow their own food.  I should be better at doing it myself because I come from a family of farmers, but the thing is, I'm super busy and I have a mis-conception that I can't grow fruits and vegetables.

At some point in late Summer, I bought some veggie boxes that are sitting on the side of my house.  I'm hopeful that I'll at the very least, this coming Spring, I'll be able to throw in some tomato plants!
