For a Native New Englander, it is in our DNA to know, eat and love seafood.

It is possible to not like seafood or maybe you have an allergy, but if you are someone like me who seeks to eat the best, here are some NH Seacoast restaurants that serve the best that the ocean has to offer.

Galley Hatch Restaurant, Hampton, NH Has Great Seafood and Amazing Desserts

This is first on my list because the Galley Hatch is in Hampton, so you know the seafood comes directly from the ocean.  Also, people go to the Galley Hatch specifically for their bakery as well.  Get the fried clams and the chocolate mousse cake for dessert.  AAAAND, you're welcome.

Brown's Lobster Pound, Rye, NH You Can BYOB

At Brown's, you can pick your lobster and they will cook it for you.  You are welcome to bring your own booze too.  Bring as much as you want as long as you behave yourself.

Newicks Lobster House, Dover, NH Feels Like Home

Newick's Lobster House, Dover, NH, isn't on the water, but it is a very homey place with amazing seafood.  Bring your parents.

River House, Portsmouth, NH Has the Best Views

This restaurant is right downtown on the water and has the ultimate view of Portsmouth harbor.  Of course, they have the fishing boats just outside of their window and the seafood is fresh every day.  Order the fried clams.

Petey's Summertime Seafood and Bar, in Rye, NH Offers Catering

Not the oldest place around, as Petey's was established in 1990, but they sure know their seafood.  Right on the water in Rye, they also offer catering.

Ray's Seafood Restaurant, Rye, NH Has the Freshest Fish Around

Another excellent choice in Rye for the freshest of fish.  You can bet anything you put in your mouth was just taken from the Atlantic ocean.

The Old Salt and Lamie's Inn, Hampton, NH is Iconic

Ah, the Old Salt. This place is a step back in time.  If you are looking for a place to remind you of home, this is the place.  From the decor to the music, you will be transported. Their menu, tried and true is the most delicious, traditional seafood dishes anywhere.

Get the chowdah.
