Production for the film, which is using the code name “Frills,” began last week.

Hollywood loves New England. Hey, it may be less expensive to film in Canada, but nothing can take place of authentic Northeast scenery. Recently, Adam Sandler was filming on the North Shore for his upcoming flick titled Hubie Halloween. Earlier this week, a feature bound for Disney+ filmed in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

According to Boston.com, filming of “Godmothered,” which is a spin on the Cinderella story rolled tape Wednesday and Thursday in Marble head. The movie will star Isla Fisher of Wedding Crashers fame, and Jillian Bell from 22 Jump Street." It's expected to be released on the insanely popular Disney+ streaming service. However, the movie does not currently have a release date.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Godmothered" tells the story of a young and unskilled fairy godmother that ventures out on her own to prove her worth by tracking down a young girl whose request for help was ignored. What she discovers is that the girl has now become a grown woman in need of something very different than a "Prince Charming."
