Blue Mermaid Restaurant Moving to Kittery

After 23 years at the Portsmouth location, The Blue Mermaid Island Grill will close its doors on June 6.

Scott and Karen Logan hope to open the Blue Mermaid in Kittery, but a location has yet to be determined.

According to seacoastonline.com, parking in Portsmouth was one of the reasons behind the decision made by owners Scott and Karen Logan.

“It’s disconcerting when you have a reservation call and say they’re canceling because they can’t find a parking place downtown,” he said.

After the Blue Mermaid closes, a new restaurant will take its place at the same location.

A new eatery called Nibblesworth is slated to open by mid-summer.

I'm psyched to hear that the Blue Mermaid will hopefully be open in a new location as I've always loved their island flavored food!
