What the heck is going on at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire?
It was reported earlier this week by several news sources and from the State Police that on Tuesday night, a shooting happened injuring 3 people.
Now there is new details about the shooting.
An arrest was made 30 miles away from the beach in Deerfield, New Hampshire. Police allege that Divaris Ojani Ruiz, 18 years old, of Manchester shot three people from a car, then headed West on Route 101.
Drive-by Shooting in Hampton Beach
Ruiz refused to pull over for Police and they had to use a tire deflation device to force him to stop.
When the car finally did stop, Ruiz ran into the woods. At that point, a shelter in place alarm was sounded for the area, as he may have been armed.
After about an hour, Ruiz and another juvenile were taken into custody.
Not a Random Act of Violence
Hampton Police Chief, Alex Reno said they have a zero tolerance policy for this and the motive is still being investigated, according to WMUR. The Police also believe this was not a random act.

I know that we hear of violent acts all the time, but something about this one really bothered me a lot for a lot of reasons, here are a couple of them.
- It took place on Hampton Beach where my family and I go all the time. We could have been there.
- The person who was the alleged shooter is only 18 years old. That seems so young to be so angry.
