The Easiest Way to Perfectly Peel an Avocado
I don't know what's wrong with me, but all of a sudden I can't get enough avocados. I rocket down so many of the things that I think I've devised the easiest way to peel them, minimizing the mess and maximizing the mellow green deliciousness.
STEP 1: Get a 'Good' Avocado
I always go with Hass or Mission. Not only are they the perfect size for a single serving, they're always near ripe. (If it's green, it needs to ripen. If it's brown, WOLF IT DOWN!)
STEP 2: Cut it Lengthwise Right Down the Middle
I botched this up pretty bad and it's still perfectly fine. Don't worry, Martha Stewart isn't watching you.
STEP 3: Cut the Remaining Half in Half.
Some folks would call that 'quartering'. I don't because fractions confuse me.
STEP 4: Peel it With Your Fingers!
Look at the magic! There is virtually no avocado on the skin. No knife, no problem. Beautiful.
STEP 5: Inhale It!
Repeat the process with the other half. The pit will stick to the last remaining slice but it'll pop off pretty easy. I should have taken a picture of that but I ate it too fast. ENJOY!
