Football Food Pick of the Week: Chili Cheese Dogs

Normally a summer food reserved for Baseball, these chili cheese hot dogs will have you raking leaves and yelling 'Touchdown' in no time! 

To perfect a chili dog, as Tyler Florence, or as I like to call him Ty Flo, explains in the video, you really need a beanless chili. Wait no beans in the chili? Let me explain.

I know it may upset the chili purists out there, but for chili dogs it just makes sense and Tyler's Ultimate (Food Network) recipe for the hot dog chili is so simple and very tasty.

First of all before you freak out, it is not a chili made of hot dogs. I know when someone says "hot dog chili" you might think that. Someone actually did when I showcased these at a recent cookout.

Tyler calls for all-beef hot dogs, but I prefer the nitrate packed originals. Whatever you do just make sure you select a hot dog in a natural casing.

DK's Fatness Messy Tip: Use a melting cheese for the topper or make a cheese sauce from scratch. And buy extra napkins.
