Here’s Where to Bring Your Kids in Maine This Spring
Most of us have been staring out the window waiting, even longing for spring to finally feel like spring in Maine. Now, we‘re got a little help!
There's an extremely helpful Instagram page called @realmainemomguide that just dropped an April Vacation Bucket List, and honestly… it’s exactly what Maine parents need right now. We could hug you.
The best part is that this list goes beyond just school vacation week!
April in Maine can be chaotic, one day it’s sunny and you’re ready for a playground, the next it’s cold and rainy and you are back inside wondering how your house got to small and loud.
The list posted takes the pressure off a bit and gives you a doable list.
For example. If you get one of those rare nice days where it’s both sunny and warm, think outdoor spots like the Eastern Promenade, Fort Williams Park or a favorite, catching a Sea Dogs game!
These are classic spots to visit. Then there are the interactive farms, we love a good Maine farm visit. Like Pineland or Smiling Hill, perfect for the kids to run free, because let’s be honest, they’re little animals too.
And if you need some indoor backups? They’ve got you too!
The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, bowling spots, indoor playgrounds, and even hands-on places like Terrarium and Color Me Mine have also made the list.
There are scheduled activities too like painting classes, baking workshops, library events, and even kid-friendly experiences at the Maine Maritime Museum.

They even included a few easy day trip ideas like hopping on the Amtrak Downeaster or heading to museums in other parts of the state.
It’s one of those lists you’ll want to screenshot and send to your mom friends because, whether it’s sunny or pouring out, at least now you’ve got options!
