So while I was busy after I got off the air yesterday, perusing lunch menus, joking around with colleagues and then settling in for a nap, 18 year old Sydney Snow was saving lives.

Sydney, from Groveland, Ma, was on duty at Wallis Sands State Park when she noticed 2 kids playing on boogie boards in unsafe conditions. There was higher surf than normal and rough seas due to the storms Wednesday, so she called for the kids to head to shore.

She noticed them struggling, so she went in after them. The rescue took about 25 minutes, after which the lifeguards posted red caution flags, advising that people don't venture in past their knees.

Cheers to Sydney Snow..Hero of the Day!
