Maine Man Accused of Injuring 2 Fire Fighters During Weekend Parade
The Ashland Days Parade turned into a melee this weekend when a local man allegedly struck a fire fighter with his 2003 Chevy Impala, according to News Center Maine, and that was just the beginning.
Cody Durand, 21, from Aroostook County is accused of running into a fire fighter who was trying to stop him from proceeding down the Holiday Parade Route in Ashland, according to the Bangor Daily News.
He then allegedly assaulted the next fire fighter that tried to stop him, THEN, allegedly swerved in an effort to hit a third fire fighter and narrowly missed a crowd of people, the newspaper reported.
Durand was apprehended by police shortly thereafter, and was held in Aroostook County Jail, News Center Maine reported. It appears that the investigation of this incident is still ongoing.
There have certainly been a lot of local news stories featuring bizarre behavior in the last week. Could it be that the 90 degree temperatures after a very cold spring are causing people to act this way?
Is that why stories like these USUALLY come from climates that typically have 90 to 100 degree heat?
I'm looking at you, Florida!
