Southern New England hasn't had rain for days and days, weeks even in some spots and it's beginning to get dangerous because of frequent wildfires.

New Hampshire, Massachusetts and all of Southern New England is under a red flag warning.  By definition, according to weather.com, a red flag warning means, "critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Any fires that start may spread rapidly and become difficult to extinguish."  

This report from WCVB shows the Ipswich river that is normally quite full, is now down to a trickle.  The river provides drinking water for the surrounding communities and Firefighters use this water to put out wildfires.

Trees are causing concerns because trunks have been hollowed out from countless wildfires.

According to wickedlocal.com, residents are being asked to conserve water to help the firefighters.  Also, by no means, burn an outdoor fire at this time.

The weather.com site does not seem to show any relief in site at the time of this article.  It looks like there may be a 40% chance of showers on Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22, but common sense tells me that won't be enough to lower the threat.

Family gatherings are coming up in just a matter of days with the Thanksgiving holiday.  For many families, that means gathering around the campfire toasting marshmallows and having a cocktail or two.  Not a good combination if we are still in an extreme drought.  Better keep the party inside.
