Many people in New Hampshire store items in their garage that shouldn't be there. Some of them could severely damage your home.
This year especially, the weather has been extremely cold.
Some of the things that we have listed here are just mild inconveniences like, if you store paint at a temperature that causes it to freeze, the paint may not be suitable for use anymore.

If you are a professional painter, however, this could mean that you are losing lots of money.
Some Storage Items Can Be Dangerous
For example, never store propane tanks indoors. That includes every enclosed space you have; your house, your shed and your garage. If the tank has a leak, the space may fill up with gas and potentially explode, according to Readers Digest.
Maybe you have acquired many t-shirts that you have no idea what to do with, but you don't want to throw them out yet. It would be tempting to throw them in a box and store them in your garage.
If you do, however, the extreme temperatures will not be kind to you clothes. Also, you may find that the smell like exhaust from your car. Not to mention potential critters who might make their home in your favorite AC/DC t-shirt from 1983.
Things in Storage Should Probably Be Thrown Away
I am a believer that if you have something in storage in your garage, or basement or wherever, you might want to consider getting rid of it. The only exception to that is old pictures. Those you can never replace.
