You may have heard by now that JoAnn Fabrics are closing 500 of their stores, according to USA Today, Nationwide. The Company filed for bankruptcy for the second time in less than a year.

JoAnn Fabrics was one of the only stores around that had yarn and a great selection of fabric for all kinds of projects.

My sister is a quilter and she doesn't know where she will go now.

There is one other fabric store on the Seacoast of New Hampshire, the Portsmouth Fabric Company on Penhallow Street. Looks like a small business from what I can tell on their website. Happy to send my sister in their direction.

The number of jobs that will be lost is the worst part about all of this. It seems like more and more New Hampshire and Massachusetts businesses are closing up shop, making it tougher for people to find a new job.
