Wow!  Yesterday was a record breaking day on top of Mount Washington with wind speeds of 171 MPH!

The Mount Washington Observatory is much more than just measuring how fast the wind blows.  It is an exploration not to be missed, especially if you live in New Hampshire.  People come from all over the world to the Observatory to experience the majesty of the mountain and we have it right here on our back yard.

Did you know that you could stay overnight on the mountain?  Check this out, from the Mount Washington Observatory website:

Overnight .... trips allow you to fully experience the summit of Mount Washington by spending a night in our weather station at 6,288 feet above sea level. You’ll get to enjoy a full day of sightseeing and alpine adventure, then join our staff scientists for a hearty dinner in the comfort of our heated weather station.

How cool is THAT?!  You could stay over on the top of the Mountain!!!  Count me IN, but I think I'll wait until it gets a wee bit warmer.
