Remember Lowell’s ‘Shark Boy’ From 2015?

This week, is Shark Week!

A few years ago, there was a hero for our beloved Shark.  His name is Sean Lesniak from Lowell.  According to a report from 2015 from the Lowell Sun, Sean went to his local representative, Rep. Dave Nangle who filed legislation making possession of shark fins illegal in Massachusetts.  Former Gov. Deval Patrick then signed into law a few months after.

Sean became part of the Discovery Channel's shark week, int he form of a documentary called Shark Trek that aired on the channel during Shark Week.

This kid is a hero for the Shark.  There are people in the world who participated in something called "shark finning."  It's disgusting and I do not want to even type the words to tell you about it.  If you are curious, you can read about it here, but I warn you.... it. is. disgusting and barbaric.

Glad to know this kid is out there protecting these magnificent animals of our oceans.
