Remember This Beloved Nashua, New Hampshire Pizza Joint That Closed?
DW Highway in South Nashua was the "hoppin'" part of the Gate City in the '70's and '80's and part of that was because of Shakey's Pizza.
Shakey's Pizza Buffett Had Delicious Pizza
When I was far too young to drive, my parents took us to Shakey's Pizza Buffett restaurant. I still remember the first time I ever went. I could not believe that you could just go and get as many slices of pizza as you wanted.
Shakey's Pizza was located in the now closed Pizzeria Uno, right at the entrance to the Pheasant Lane Mall.
According to New Hampshire Eats Facebook page, many people also miss Shakey's.
- Dana said, "Remember it was the first pizza place that served beer I Loved the pizza and the kazoos you could get.it really was a fun place to go."
- Michelle said, "Yes! When I was in high school, my boyfriend and I would cut school sometimes and go have the lunch buffet. I think it was 6.99 all you can eat, and included soda refills."
- Jennifer said, "Yes, 3 stooges on the screen and all the kids got kazoos. Sounds like a nightmare to me now, but I loved it as a kid!"
Remember the Kazoos at Shakey's in Nashua?
Every kid got a kazoo at Shakey's. The Kazoo makes one of the most horrible sounds ever, in my opinion.

Also, they constantly played the 3 Stooges on their TV screens, which I thought was the coolest thing ever. I love that trio. (weird kid, I know...)
I was TODAY years old when I learned that Shakey's Pizza was a National chain. I thought it was just in Nashua.
Maybe someone should re-open Shakey's. All you can eat pizza, kazoos and the 3 Stooges on the TV? How could it fail?
