According to a report from WCVB, Boston, two beaches were closed Sunday due to shark sightings: Nauset Public Beach in Orleans and Coast Guard Beach in Eastham on the outer Cape.

Swimmers were evacuated from the ocean and the beach was closed to swimming until 11 a.m, the news station reported.

Better to err on the side of caution and stay out of the way of a hungry shark.

These are magnificent creatures and to be honest, when we are swimming in the ocean, that is their territory.

There have been more than 150 great white shark sightings since June off the coast of Cape Cod, according to the WCVB report.

Last year, according to Florida Museum, there were 66 unprovoked shark attacks and 34 provoked attacks.

My question is, why would you provoke a shark?  And HOW would you do it?

I picture someone with a wet suit and a stick poking the shark until it gets mad enough and takes a bite out of it's provoker.  I would do the same thing if I were being poked with a stick.
