If you thought that beehive of construction in Newington was going to speed up your commute time, think again.

The project that was initially slated to end in 2017 might not be over until 2021.

The conclusion I got from a very thorough article on this subject published at Fosters.com, is that most of the remaining work will be on a 'pay as you go' situation. In other words, the project is basically out of money.

So by the time four lanes of traffic heading both ways will be paved and open to the public, we might all have the flying cars that the Jetsons promised us years ago.
