A Stunning New Hampshire River Was Named One of the Most Beautiful in the US
New Hampshire is a rich state and what I mean by that is rich with natural beauty. One of the crown jewels in the 603 is this river in Central New Hampshire.
Many motorcycle enthusiasts love to "take a drive along the Pemi." They are referring to the Pemigewasset River (pronounced: pem-a-jah-WAAAH-sit) and it's no wonder why they and many others, consider it the most beautiful river in the U.S.
The Pemigewasset River was named in a list of America's Most Beautiful Rivers, according to aol.com.
A River Runs Through It
The Pemigewasset, a/k/a, the Pemi, is almost 70 miles long and runs through several New Hampshire towns including Woodstock, Thornton, Campton, Plymouth and Lincoln.
If you have ever gone to Franconia State Park and explored the trails, the flowing waters are those of the Pemi.
There are plenty of places to stop along the banks of the Pemi for a picnic lunch. No need to bring bottles of water, just something to collect the it in. The clear, rushing waters of the river are fine to drink.
Or, at least it was when I went camping. We made lemonade with that water. I make no promises for you and your digestive system.
You've Probably Seen the Pemi River Even if You've Never Been to NH
This is the river that is photographed in countless pictures of recreation for NH Tourism. If you see a picture of someone kayaking, canoeing or fishing, chances are, it's the Pemigewasset.

The Pemi Loop is the 2nd Most Difficult Hike in the U.S.
People from around the U.S. come to New Hampshire to hike the Pemi Loop. It's considered, according to Northeasthikes.com, to be the second hardest day hike in America.
I consider myself a hiker, but this entire hike would not be for me. Definitely parts of it, but this hike includes 8 mountains that are part of New Hampshire's 48 4,000 footers.
