Thanksgiving Memories: The Time I Met Richard Sanders A.K.A Les Nessman

I can't think of a more apropos time to share this photo than Thanksgiving weekend. It's a picture of me with Richard Sanders, otherwise known as Les Nessman from "WKRP In Cincinnati." The radio station I was working for at the time did a turkey drop around Thanksgiving, much like the one on the popular TV show -- except there were no real turkeys. Instead, we invited Sanders to our event where we dropped gift certificates for free frozen turkeys from the grocery store. And yes, "Les Nessman" announced the play-by-play of the turkey drop on the radio for our listeners to hear.

In case you are wondering what is going on in the picture, Sanders is signing his autograph on my jeans. I'm pretty sure I still have those jeans in a keepsakes box somewhere, probably in storage with my other collectibles.

It was a fun day, and a successful promotion. It was definitely a memory that will never be forgotten.
