The Pops Will Not Be on the Esplanade This Year ... Again

It was just announced, according to WCVB, that the Boston Pops will not be on the Esplanade in Boston this year due to COVID-19 concerns.  The July 4th show will be moved to Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts to a limited capacity audience of 9,000 people.

Free Tickets Will Be Available

Free tickets will be made available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis starting on June 21 at 10am by clicking here.  There is a limit on tickets, however, you can only get four tickets per household.  There will NOT be fireworks at Tanglewood.

There Will Be Firewords on the Common

The Boston Common will have the fireworks finale, but there will not be any video or sound for the crowd in attendance.  I'm sure there are people who will gather at the Common like they always have with their blankets, dogs, and children to watch the display minus the live music from the Pops.

If You Can't Be There, You Can Still Watch on TV

As it always is, the Boston Pops 4th of July Celebration will be broadcast on TV and online, so you can still see it from the comfort of your own home.

The Boston Pops are Electric

There is nothing like seeing the Boston Pops performing live.  It's the same setlist every year of course, however, if you are there, the whole place is full of energy.  It's something not to be missed.  Lenox, Massachusetts is a haul, if you are driving, but it's worth it to see this incredible group of musicians play.
