This New Hampshire Bookstore Is One of the Most Charming and Cozy in America
This New Hampshire bookstore, from it's staff picks, huge indie selection and cute café, it is, without a doubt, the most charming and cozy bookstore in all of America.
I could spend days at Gibson's Bookstore on Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire and never be lonely. A fellow bookworm would understand.
I don't want to mislead you - I would guess that I read maybe 2, maybe 3 books every year. That's a weekend for some of my friends. But, I just love getting lost in a bookstore.
I'm not the only one who thinks Gibson's is the cat's meow, (I think Gibson's actually has a cat) Reader's Digest actually picked them as well. #greatmindsthinkalike
Gibson's Bookstore Has Been Independent Since 1898, according to their website. They stay open because people still buy books.
Gibson's Has a Toy Section
I'm not sure how much square footage Gibson's has, but it seems huge to me. There is a toy section, which I also particularly like so if you take your kids and they don't want to check out a book, you can bring them to see all the fun playthings.
Gibson's Has a Café
If you want to hang out on the café side of Gibson's you are welcome to do that in their cozy café. You can grab a tea, coffee, maybe a sweet thing and work away remotely.
People have business meetings at Gibson's. You can go for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Even a smoothie.
You might love books, I might love books, but the staff at Gibson's really, REALLY loves books. In fact, they created a podcast talking about their favorite books called, The Laydown.
I also love Water Street Books in Exeter, NH. Many NH Authors, including Dan Brown, has been there to sign their books and mingle with the people.
