There are some fantastic people here on the seacoast who are willing to help those who help others.  Everyday people who are trying to pitch in to do their part and one way, found by amazing women on the seacoast, is feeding health care workers, according to a story from Seacoastonline.

Fuel the Fight Seacoast and Helping Hungry Heroes, two local Facebook groups are using GoFundMe pages to raise money so they can deliver food from local restaurants to hospital workers.  It also helps the local restaurants who have had to close due to this pandemic, so it's a win/win!

The two groups started in early April and so far, according to the report, they have raised over $10,000 and have created partnerships with local restaurants to help them with their mission.

The founder of the Seacoast chapter of Fuel the Fight, Lisa Dachsteiner, said:

We have even had a couple of restaurants, The Goat in Portsmouth and Texas Roadhouse in Newington, donate the meals and refuse payment.

100% of the funds raised will be going to the restaurants that participate.  Food is being sent to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, all Convenient MD locations, including the testing site on Pease.

Helping Hungry Heroes was started by Brooke Dreher and she said in the report,

If I can get more funding I am going to see if Portsmouth Regional Hospital has a desire or need for donated meals as well as York and some other hospitals nearby. I am a stay-at-home housewife with a baby who naps a lot, so I have plenty of time to devote to this.
