The Patriots announced Tuesday Willie McGinest, a three-time Super Bowl Champion, will be the 24th player inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

McGinest played for the Patriots from 1994 - 2005 and was a phenomenal linebacker/defensive lineman. He's third on the Patriots' all time sacks list with 78 and has the team record for postseason sacks with 16.

Joining McGinest in the Patriots Hall of Fame this year will be Houston Antwine, another great defensive lineman. The players will likely be honored at halftime of an upcoming home game this season.

Willie McGinest is one of my favorite Patriots players of all time. He was enormous to me as a kid growing up watching him give offensive lineman fits. I'm not positive but I think his wing span is over 30 feet, and he could palm a medicine ball.

Without Willie, the dynasty of the 2001-2005 teams probably doesn't exist. His role was that important.

My favorite Willie McGinest play: Pats vs. Colts in 2003 regular season game. Colts are on the 1-yard line in the waning seconds of the game and the Patriots stuff them with the help of Willie McGinest. Followed by him running down the middle of the field.

(play #3)
