36 Illegal Items Maine and New Hampshire Goodwill Stores Will Not Accept As Donation
Once in a while, if you're like me, you get the itch to de-clutter and get rid of a few things around your house. Before you know it, you have tons of stuff to donate to Goodwill.
Know Before You Go To Maine or New Hampshire Goodwill
Before you make the trip to the store, you should know that you can't just donate anything to Goodwill, even things that have nothing wrong with them.
On the following list, hospital beds are on the list of "no go" items. According to goodwillnne.org, there is no specific reason why a hospital bed won't be accepted, but the site does say if the employees are unable to assist with large items, they can decline it.
Maine and NH Goodwills Don't Want Your Junk
There are other things like pharmaceuticals that are absolutely banned from donation. Goodwill could not accept them due to legal or liability risks.
Goodwill also will not accept any donation if it is not clean or in saleable condition. In other words, they won't accept junk.

Goodwill has always been a great place to donate clothes and other items to. The thought of someone else getting joy from that leather coat I've worn since 1992 warms my heart. Couple that with the high heels from 1989 and you've got that 80's themed Halloween costume in the bag.
Goodwill was founded by Dr. Edgar Helms in 1902. Dr. Helms was a Minister and a settlement worker in Boston's North End. He wanted to find a way to help new immigrants to this country get on their feet.
Dr. Helms motto:
Not Charity, but a Chance.
Goodwill gives people an opportunity to be generous by donating clothing and other products that others may use. Dr. Helms created a non-profit that was a win on both sides of the equation.
One of the best things about Goodwill is that the inventory changes over almost every day. My step-son Wesley and his friends from UNH used to go "Good Will Hunting" to find some great deals. Get it? "Good Will Hunting?" I love that kid.
