According to Berklee online, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott and Alex Lacamoire will receive honorary doctorate degrees at the commencement ceremony for the 2019 graduates on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Agganis Arena at Boston University. They will join a long list of honorary doctorate recipients, Steven Tyler, Melissa Etheridge, Carol King, Willie Nelson and many, many more.

Justin. Timberlake.  and ... Missy. Elliott.  Are you kidding me?  The 90's girl in me is FREAKING OUT!  I've got a few years on the graduates, (I'm assuming) at Berklee, so does that mean that they might not know the wonders of Missy getting her "hair did?"  Or, the screams of glee when I gave away a pair of *NSYNC tickets?

Since the days of *NSYNC, Justin Timberlake has gone on to just about every corner of entertainment - comedy skits on Saturday Night Live, musical collaborations with Chris Stapleton (a country/blues powerhouse) and several movie parts.  He is an entertainer that can do it all!  No matter what kind of music you are in to, if you don't like Justin Timberlake, you don't like to be entertained.

Admittedly, I had never heard of Alex Lacamoire, but, according to Wiki, he's received a lot of Grammy and Tony Awards, so he's a big deal too.

The three honorary doctorate candidates will be in the audience at the commencement and the students will be performing their music RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!  No pressure.

The date of commencement is HIGHLY inconvenient for me.  It's my step-son's 18th birthday.  DAMNIT!  Family always comes first.  Even before Justin and Missy. DAMN, DAMN, DAMN-it though!!  Not that I would be able to go anyway.  I'm not a graduate of Berklee.  YET.
