Dover Resident, 75-Year-Old Navy Veteran Honored at Celtics Game
Paul “Doc” Dachsteiner will be recognized for his efforts as a Pease Greeter
Dover resident Paul “Doc” Dachsteiner will be featured as tonight's Hero Among Us Honoree at The Boston Celtics home stand vs. the Indiana Pacers.
The 75-year-old Navy veteran enlisted in the service in 1960 and retired from active duty in 2002.
Since 2008, Dachsteiner has been a member of the Pease Greeters- a nonprofit organization dedicated to welcoming and thanking troops as they pass through Pease International Airport.
Doc has rarely missed any flight arrival. It's estimated that he has greeted more than 900 military flights since 2008.
He'll be saluted by the Mass State Lottery and the Boston Celtics as tonight's "Hero Among Us" when the Celts take on Indiana. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
