A Rockingham County man was the winner of a $1 million Powerball ticket sold in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts State Lottery said Jonathan Bulmer bought the ticket for the October 7 drawing at A.L. Prime Energy in Dracut. He was one of two million-dollar Massachusetts winners for the drawing after matching the five white balls. The stores receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the tickets.

There was also a ticket worth $2 million because the Power Play was also applied. The ticket was sold at the Handy Stop in Howland, Maine.

Bulmer said he likes to play the lottery when the jackpots get high, and decided to take his chances with a Quic Pic ticket.

The drawing was the 34th in the run-up to Wednesday's drawing, which produced a winner of an estimated $1.765 billion ($774.1 million) jackpot. The ticket was sold in California.

One New Hampshire Lottery ticket worth $50,000 was sold online through NH iLottery.
