Nasty Squirrel On The Loose In California

It's victims number eight and could rise.

Eight people have reported being attacked in Novato, California by a squirrel that apparently is showing no fear.

The victims report being bitten in the hands, arms, legs, and in one case, the head. The victims vary in age from a child to a 78 year old man.

The New York Daily News reports:

Richard Williams, 78, was working in his garage when he was attacked by the crazed animal. “He jumped me three or four different times. When I got him off, he’d get back on. I got him off my shoulder the first time. He was clinging pretty hard. When I got him off, my hand and arm were torn up.” Williams eventually chased the squirrel off, but suffered injuries to his right arm, hand, leg, lip and head in the battle.

It's not a good idea to feed the squirrels, as this one in particular has obviously lost it's fear of humans.

All of the victims have gone through rabies shots, which don't sound like a good time.
