We are in the holiday season and in the thick of making holiday travel plans.  The weather could impact these plans, so it's important to know what we are in for.  Luckily, we still have the Old Farmer's Almanac.

The Old Farmer's Almanac Prediction for New England's Winter 2025 - 2026

According to their website, the Northeast will see less intense cold overall and not so much snow and rain.  The coldest part of Winter will be in December, early January.  The snowiest periods will be in mid-November and mid-December.  Then again in early February.

Although they predict the snowiest period in mid-November and mid-December, that doesn't mean huge storms.  Quite the contrary, they are expecting less snow for the entire season.  Sorry, skiers.

 

Holiday Travel Week Weather for New Hampshire Looks Decent

Here in New England, we could see some below average temperatures for Christmas week, with a chance of snow showers.  The roads may be slippery, but the Almanac is not calling for any big storms.  They do advise extra time and the use of extra caution on the roads when driving.  

Driving to Canada for the Holidays? Here's What the Almanac Says About the Weather

Many people in New Hampshire and all of New England have family in Canada that they drive to see during the holidays.  If this is you, the Almanac is calling for below average cold temperatures, lots of snow and snowy roads.  Sounds like if you are going, make sure you take extra time.
