New Hotline Proves NH Real ID Isn’t ‘Real Easy’ To Get

October 1st is New Hampshire's Real ID Deadline, after that, any NH resident hoping to board a plane without one will be out of time and out of luck.

Since one of my greatest fears is to wait in line, only to be denied in front of everyone and shamefully walk away, I got my Real ID years ago and it wasn't as simple a process as you might think.

In my humble opinion, the most difficult requirement to obtain was a CERTIFIED copy of my Birth Certificate. I thought I was in the clear because I actually have the original copy, but believe it or not, it isn't CERTIFIED.

Luckily, I live within a quarter mile of the Rochester NH City Hall, the city in which I was born. Within a couple minutes of an in person visit to the Clerk's office, I was issued a CERTIFIED copy of my Birth Certificate.

Also if you have a Passport, you're all set, as that is an acceptable requirement of identity.
